AutoCAD DWG support
IntelliCAD 2000 allows users to read, write, and display DWG files from Version 2.5 right through AutoCAD 2000 - without conversion. And since drawings are natively created in DWG, they can be shared between IntelliCAD 2000 and AutoCAD without fear of losing mission- critical information. In addition, if IntelliCAD 2000 encounters information it cannot work with, it preserves the data unharmed.
AutoCAD command line
Most CAD professionals have spent so many years mastering AutoCAD commands that they have become second nature. Since thesecommands help creat the majority of CAD work, IntelliCAD 2000 transparently maps these commands to IntelliCAD 2000 equivalent.
AutoLISP and ADS
IntelliCAD 2000 also preserves the investment users have made in developing AutoLISP routines to automate and enhance functionality in AutoCAD, an important feature since literally thousands of these routines exist in corporate AutoLISP libraries or in the public domains as shareware. IntelliCAD 2000 runs most AutoLISP routines directly, and existing ADS (AutoCAD Development Systems) routines including DCL can be run after a recompile.
Menu's, fonts and symbols
Custom AutoCAD environments can be transferred into Bricsnet IntelliCAD 2000 with complete ease. IntelliCAD 2000 works seamlessly with symbol libraries, fonts (SHX), scripts (SCR), menus (MNU), and dialog box (DCL)files (which are typically part of ADS programs or AutoLISP routines).
Edit multiple drawings
IntelliCAD 2000 allows users to open multiple documents at once (MDI ).This powerful feature enables CAD professionals to review two or more drawings within one session, copy objects from one drawing to another, load and edit xrefs, and copy and paste elements, blocks, and more from one drawing to another.
Scripting
Similar to macros found in Microsoft Office Programs, IntelliCAD 2000 can record and automate commonly repeated tasks. For example,a script can capture command names, options and coordinates used in a given task, saving valuable design time. IntelliCAD 2000 also reads and writes SCR (script)files created in AutoCAD.
Visual Basic
IntelliCAD 2000 not only supports standard forms of customization like AutoLISP and ADS, it offers the power of Microsoft Visual Basic for Applications (VBA). VBA is an object-based programming environment using the COM interface,w hich allows users to develop custom solutions. VBA is a component of Microsoft Office applications like Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
Raster support
The advanced Raster Image support included in IntelliCAD 2000 enables designers to load, manage and manipulate scanned maps, photos,drawings and documents. Designs can also incorporate scanned documents such as aerial photographs, satellite imagery, design drawings or property maps within a drawing environment. IntelliCAD 2000 also includes a set of raster image edit ing and manipulation tools, easily manipulating color, grayscale and monochrome images within IntelliCAD.
Visualization
3D surface commands are fully supported in IntelliCAD 2000, making it easy to produce high-quality 3-D models and display them as wireframes, with hidden lines removed, with surface shading, or as fully rendered photorealistic artwork. IntelliCAD 2000 has licensed the LightWork Design 3-D engine to provide these powerful and professional tools. Professional models can be quickly created using IntelliCAD Choose from preset lighting effects, surface materials and back grounds. Tools to enhance more realistic renderings of textured surfaces like concrete and carpet have been added, in addition to the ability to assign materials via a layer lookup table.
